Finding Treasure – Christian Book

I have found many revelations in this beautiful christian book, of the width and the depth in witch God takes the time to guide our hand and our feet a step at a time. In the fears, and the tears, in the joys and the sorrows, using the time to teach us through our success and failures. So I can only say that if you were to open your heart you too would be able to hear, taste and see that the Lord is good.

Thanksgiving – What a Year for Matt Kottman!

Matt Kottman’s testimony of how his life was changed in 1 year. From finding his father, which he had never met, to gaining two new brothers, two new sisters-in-law, four nieces and nephews, and another mom. Thanksgiving had a very special meaning this year.

Trials and Joy

Recently, a cocktail of circumstances caused me to lose my joy. You know how it is, any one of them on their own is tough but manageable, but when they all descend on you, it feels like the perfect storm. In the storm I could look at the horizon, and all I could see was wave after wave. On one particular evening at rush hour (which should really be called ‘park hour’) as I was commuting around the M25, right…

Interview on Singleness

Mission in the Workplace

We, as Christians, are called to live out the truth of the Gospel of Jesus. That means using all areas of our lives as opportunities for God’s mission to the world to show the glory of Jesus.

Hope

This is a word that gets a lot of play. When we use the word hope, we usually mean that we should cross our fingers and wish for the best. Hope then becomes nothing more than positive thinking. But the Bible gives us a different perspective on the word hope. Hope carries the idea of an expectation of good. Hope is coupled with certainty, that is to say, certainty regarding the future. The question then is not one of IF, but of…

Waiting

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I do hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning. (Psalm 130:5-6) When something happens that is bigger than us, there is a real sense of helplessness. All we can do whether 6000, 400, or 1 mile(s) away is wait on God and hope in his promises. We should choose to wait actively on God who makes all things beautiful in his time (Ecclesiastes…

Dealing with Life’s Crises

This past week has been a roller-coaster emotionally. My little brother Tony was in a car accident with a lorry in California. He now lies in critical condition in a coma. I arrived here in California last Wednesday. I find the sheer intensity of emotion exhausting (my jetlag is probably also playing into that). We are spending a lot of time in the ICU and in the off hours we are at the hospital accommodation (for people with loved ones…
