Change of Venue from 22 October 2023

Change of Venue from 22 October 2023

Dear Family and guests

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to inform you of a change of venue. Due to a structural issue found in The Bridge, the council has closed the building. We, therefore, will not be able to meet there for the foreseeable future. By God’s grace, we have found another suitable venue to meet from Sunday, the 22nd of October. The Leatherhead Institute is located at the top of the Leatherhead High Street. The address is below:

67 high street
KT22 8AH

Adjustments due to change of venue

Due to the change of venue, we will need to make some adjustments.

there is limited parking at the institute. The existing space is reserved for disabled badges and those serving early in the morning. Therefore, we ask everyone to park at the Swan Shopping Centre car Park, a short walk away from the institute. It’s is free parking on Sunday and there is plenty of space.

it is the last building at the very top of the high street on the left and can’t be missed. There is a lift inside for those who need wheelchair accessibility. Our welcome team will be present to help direct people to where to go. We will then explain the Sunday School arrangements in the service itself.

We will continue as we have before with teas and coffees before and after the service. A bring-and-share meal will still take place on the 1st Sunday of every month.

THIS IS IMPORTANT – There is no outdoor space in the venue. Aside from the allocated Sunday school rooms the children can’t be running around the corridors at any point. We are renting a shared space, not renting the whole building. All children have to be either in the main hall or in Sunday school lessons, youth and crèche. This is non-negotiable, unfortunately. The only outside space is out of the entrance onto the high street with a main road next to it.

This venue is quite strict on their expectations of children being supervised. This means, aside from when in a lesson, we need all parents to please supervise their children. Please keep this in mind and set your children’s expectations in advance for this new space.

This is the greatest adjustment due to the change of venue and we value your understanding.

Park & Playgrounds – With the above said, there are 2 parks & playgrounds in the area, both half a mile away. They are the Leatherhead Park and the Fortyfoot Playground.

Going Forward

At this present time, we are taking one week at a time in terms of our services. We have every intention of returning to the bridge centre when made available. However, are aware that the council could take months/years to do the work or never re-open. This is a provisional venue and we will see if it’s suitable to continue. For the time being please be aware disciples church is in a time of transition. Be praying for the leadership as we seek guidance from our Lord going forward.

Any questions please let us know.

Praise God for his provision!

We appreciate your engagement
