You’re invited to a Christmas Carol Service
In the 2024th year of our Lord, we come together to celebrate the most important birthday in the history of mankind! And we would love you to join us.
We will get together on Sunday the 22nd of December at 2 pm in Ashtead Baptist Church to share some hot drinks and mince pies, sing some Carols together, listen to a Christmas message and spend some quality time together!
All are welcome!
Is Jesus worthy?
Christmas can be like Marmite, some hate it, and some love it.
But, whether we love it or hate it, I think it’s pretty impressive that we are still celebrating Jesus’ birthday more than 2000 years later! What other person has received this much honour and praise for this long and by so many people? And yet, if Jesus really is who the Bible and Himself said He was, God incarnate, He deserves much more than this!
George Frideric Handel in 1741 created one of the most iconic compositions, “Messiah”, in which he quotes the prophetic announcement of Jesus’ birth. 700 years before His birth God inspired Isaiah to write:
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” [Isa 7:14]
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” [Isa 9:6]
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” [Isa 53:5-6]

That sounds to me like someone worth all the honour, praise and worship! Do you agree?
The Gospel
If you would like to understand what this all means in practical terms, and what implications it has for you and all your loved ones, I would encourage you to read about THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.
May the greatest Christmas present ever given in love, be yours!
