For God so loved you that He gave His Son, so that if you believe in His Son you will not perish but have everlasting life.
If you believe in Him you are not condemned; but if you don’t believe you are condemned already…
And this is why: the light has come into the world, but you love darkness rather than light, because your deeds are evil and you are afraid to be exposed.
John 3:16-20 paraphrased
Disagree? Do you think you are a good person? Shall we pull the curtains back and let some light in?
What would you find if the light of God’s perfect moral law, the 10 commandments, was to test you?
Have you ever told a lie? (Be honest.) Have you taken anything that belongs to someone else? Have you ever disobeyed your parents? Have you been greedy, or hated someone? (The Bible says if we hate someone, we are murdering them in our heart.) and these are only 5 out of 10…
So based on your answers would you plead innocent or guilty?
Would you be condemned to hell or have everlasting life?
Would you hide in the darkness or allow the light to expose you? Because, as terrifying as it is to be exposed, this is actually the only way to be saved from condemnation!
And here is why: God sent His Son, Jesus, who took the punishment that you deserve by dying on the cross. Then He rose from the dead, defeating death and today, if you reject your love for darkness and put your trust (believe) in Jesus, God will forgive you of all your evil deeds and take you in as His child!
But you see, if you say that you are innocent and that you wish to continue in the dark, the light will not come in, and neither will the freedom of forgiveness and acceptance of His true love for you…
